Look at ME

So, because there wasn't enough sweetness in the world when Meatball rubbed my sleepy eyes....

The other night, I was holding Peanut right before bedtime. I was talking to him at first, but then I started watching TV and talking to Bub, too. So, he reached up and put his hand on my cheek and turned my face back to look at him. I kissed him and cuddled him and then turned to finish my talk with Bub. Again, I felt a little hand on my cheek turning my face back to his. I kissed his half closed eyes and told him how much I loved him. Then, just to see what would happen, I looked up at the TV. Once again, he turned my face to his.

Ahhh... Melting heart, gooey, sweet kid. I snuggled him and didn't turn my face away again until he was asleep.

Wouldn't it be nice to feel the sort of peace & safety he was feeling at that moment? Even on our best days as adults we probably don't even come close to having a moment like that.
